Reflex-sponsored racing driver Adam Smalley takes championship lead
Following a string of wins and podiums, Ginetta GT4 Supercup racing driver Adam Smalley is in pole position
Reflex Vehicle Hire-sponsored racing driver Adam Smalley has taken the championship lead of the Ginetta GT4 Supercup after a blistering start to the season.
In the latest series of races at the Brands Hatch circuit, he secured a win and a podium across three races to top the championship table with 157 points.
The first race of the weekend saw Adam line up third on the grid and, after a great start, he made up a place before the first corner and challenged for the lead throughout the race, before finishing second.
In the second race, Adam captured the lead during the first lap and held off strong challenges to secure his third win of the season.
After his win, Smalley had to draw lots for his grid position in the final race and picked fifth, a position he held to the chequered flag against intense competition from drivers on fresher tyres.
His impressive performance consolidates a stunning start to the season at the first race meeting, held at Snetterton, where Adam took two race wins.
He showed his intentions with blistering pace during qualifying to secure pole position and went on to set the fastest lap of the first race and secure the win.
The second race saw Adam take another ‘lights to flag’ victory, before the final reverse grid race, where he started in fourth before climbing to take second.
Adam will be in action again defending his title lead at Oulton Park for round three of the eight-round championship on the weekend of July 31-August 1.
