Reflex supports awards that recognise safest fleets
Reflex Vehicle Hire has supported the annual UK Fleet Champions Awards, organised by road safety charity Brake, to recognise industry efforts to reduce risk on the road
Reflex Vehicle Hire has celebrated the best fleet safety initiatives at the annual UK Fleet Champions Awards, organised by road safety charity Brake.
The awards recognise organisations and individuals for their contribution to improving the safety of at-work drivers.
The winners were announced during a virtual awards ceremony that took place during Road Safety Week, the UK’s biggest road safety event, coordinated annually by Brake.
The awards are held as part of Brake’s Global Fleet Champions campaign, a worldwide partnership to prevent crashes and reduce pollution caused by vehicles used for work purposes.
The prestigious Kevin Storey Award for Outstanding Commitment to Road Safety was awarded to John Boocock at training provider Fleetmaster Group.
Other award winners included Metworks (Company Driver Safety Award - small fleet); Air Products (Company Driver Safety Award - medium fleet); British Gas (Company Driver Safety Award - large fleet); and Go Ahead Group, which secured the Sustainable Journeys Award, sponsored by Reflex Vehicle Hire, in recognition of the close relationship between safe and efficient driving.
British Gas also received the Safe Vehicles Award, while Arriva took home the Road Safety in the Community Award.
Matthew Hammond, Head of Fleet at Altrad, was named Road Risk Manager of the Year.
Ross Moorlock, Chief Operating Officer at Brake, said:
“In what has been a difficult year for everybody it was great to bring so many from the industry together at the awards ceremony and to celebrate the successes from over the last year. A huge congratulations to all of our winners.”
